ATK - Elk River

Over the past five years, NACOMM Research has been investigating the 1992 Elk River Sightings. During this time, we have had the blessing of meeting certain key individuals who have been invaluable to our research. These individuals range from the intelligence to the military fields.

When researching UFO reports, our main objective has always been to come to the truth. In many cases, this truth may not always be what we initially hoped for or planned. The vast majority of cases simply go beyond explanation due to lack of evidence or credible sources. Many times, certain powers in our government fragment the pieces of the puzzle with disinformation and distractions so as to destroy any clear picture of the truth.

The 1992 Elk River Sightings appear to be a case of the latter. However, in our five years of research, one common thread has become clear: All of our sources and research suggest some connection to the aerospace/defense technologies firm- Alliant Techsystems. A spin-off from Honeywell in 1990 with Headquarters in Hopkins, Minnesota, Alliant has divisions in 12 states and is no stranger to the aerospace industry. Their capabilities include manufacturing solid rocket motors for our most modern space launch vehicles as well as hi-tech fiber composites for the new F-22 Raptor. According to a report from InfoManage International, during the year of 1992, Alliant was rated the #2 contractor for percentage of revenues received from the Department of Defense, only to be outdone by Loral.

Of particular interest to our research is the September 16, 1992 Terry Townsend UFO Sighting which occurred directly over Alliant's Proving Grounds facility in Elk River, Minnesota. The other three relevant sightings that year were within a 10 mile radius of this facility. Alliant has always claimed that this facility was mainly used for munitions development, testing and disposal. Too coincidental to be brushed off as mere chance, we decided to gather intelligence information from various sources and approach Alliant with our findings before going public. Their response was a very cordial denial of any involvement or investigation into the incident.

This response left us with only three possible conclusions:

1) All of the multiple people who reported seeing UFOs in Elk River during 1992 were hallucinating or in need of further ridicule and mockery by reporting these events to be published in the Elk River Star Newspaper.

2) The supervision of Alliant Techsystems' Elk River Proving Grounds is so poor that such activity can go by unnoticed and uninvestigated even though occurring over their guarded facility?

3) The consequences of Alliant telling us the truth about their activities in 1992 are far outweighed by the perceived benefits of denial.

Our main concern has been the indirect exposure to such technologies by the civilian population surrounding this area. History has a way of being a sober reminder of what happens when black project activity bypasses governmental accountability. From the workers at Area-51 or the Cash-Landrum case, to a more personal friends experience, people are suffering and dying from exposure to advanced spin-off technology.

The greatest obstacle for research organizations such as NACOMM, is that all the contacts and information received from credible sources cannot be verified completely due to strict security clearances. In other words, the hand that protects us under a "National Security" blanket also many times loses track of the destination of great sums of its money. This money, for good and bad reasons, gets funneled into black projects that are layered with protective covers. Those who manage these "covers" many times are willing to risk the lives of the few for the perceived greater end of protecting the many.

Now, add to this fear a real and present danger of an extraterrestrial intelligence that can appear over our most secure facilities and you have a problem. The security risk just got ALOT BIGGER! Perhaps it is somewhat ironic, the very same methods we so despise in these "visitors," we also use on our "lower class" citizens; always being left in the dark with just scraps of the truth to grovel in and piece together. And as this puzzle begins to come together, the more convinced we at NACOMM are that our only hope is returning to the Truth!

NACOMM Update: 08/16/04
Since our original report regarding ongoing UFO activity surrounding this populated area, we must consider the possibility that this facility was being utilized for not only black projects but also grey projects.
